Dimapur, July 31: Governor of Nagaland R N Ravi has extended warm wishes to the people of Nagaland and the Ao community in particular on the occasion of Tsungremong festival.
In his message, the Governor said Tsungremong, which is celebrated to mark the end of a bountiful harvest, is a festival of dancing, singing and celebration. It is also a time to give thanks to the Almighty for all His unwavering love and blessings.
In the backdrop of COVID-19 situation, the Governor urged the people to celebrate it this year with the needed precautions.
On this auspicious occasion, he called upon the Ao community to rededicate themselves with renewed vigour to the peace, progress and prosperity of the State.
He also called upon youth to take active interest in safeguarding and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Nagas inherently reflected in such festivals.
May Tsungremong bring happiness and prosperity to our people and strengthen the bonds of inter-tribe brotherhood, he stated.
On the auspicious occasion of Id-ul-Zuha, the Governor conveyed warmest greeting to the people of Nagaland, particularly to the Muslim community.
He hoped that this sacred occasion will usher in good will, harmony and further strengthen the values of a composite society.
He also called upon the community to celebrate Id-ul-Zuha in the true spirit while observing the constraints of the global pandemic COVID-19. (Page News Service)
