Governor extends Poang Lüm greeting


dimapur, january 12: Governor of Nagaland and Meghalaya, RN Ravi has extended greetings to the people of Nagaland specially the Chang community on the occasion of Poang Lüm festival.
The Governor stated that the celebration of the festival should be a source of building unity amongst the people of Nagaland to usher in an era of collective peace and progress for all round developments of the State.
He stated that the post harvest festival would help the people connecting with their roots and values while keeping pace with the modernity. On the occasion, he called on the youth to shoulder the responsibility of building a new Nagaland of our dreams!
State BJP chief: Minister HE&TE and Tribal Affairs and State BJP president Temjen Imna Along has also greeted the Chang community on the occasion of “Poang Lum,” which is a post harvest festival. This year, the festival is going to be a part of the mini hornbill festival in Tuensang town from January 13-15.
“This winter festival is a time to celebrate the blessing of sufficiency after the annual harvest and a time to nurture and pass down the tradition and culture of Chang community to the upcoming young generation,” he said while conveying regards and prayer to the Chang community to celebrate the Poang Lum festival in pomp and peace to acknowledge the God of all Blessings and prayed that the community enjoy a blissful year of bountiful.
