Governor extends Metemneo greetings

Dimapur, August 7: Governor of Nagaland R N Ravi has extended warm greetings to all people of Nagaland, especially to Yinchunger brothers and sisters on the occasion of Metemneo festival.
Stating that this festival represents the rich cultural heritage of our people, the Governor said the importance of cleanliness and hygiene has been found through many Naga festivals, which is very relevant today as everyone is fighting the Pandemic.
Cleaning of village and repair of roads are important activities during Metemneo. The people also seek blessings for a good crop, he added.
The festival is believed to be the right occasion to forget all bitterness and strengthen the familial and social bondings, he stated and urged upon the youths to carry forward this rich cultural legacy.
As they celebrate the festival at home during this difficult time of Covid-19, the Governor wished everybody happiness, peace and good health.
