Governor extends Diwali and Ahuna greetings

Dimapur, November 13: Governor of Nagaland R N Ravi has extended Diwali and Ahuna greetings to the people of Nagaland.
In a message, he said Diwali festival signifies victory of light over darkness, good over evil, truth over falsehood and knowledge over ignorance.
Stating that cleaning and decorating homes and office premises with colours mark the celebrations, the Governor said it gives an opportunity for the people to spend time together and foster good relationships in the family, work place and society.
He also urged the people to celebrate the “Festival of Lights” observing all Covid-19 protocols this time.
On this auspicious occasion, he prayed to God to bless everybody with good health, prosperity and abundant and fertile crops and that God lead us all from darkness to light.
The Governor also extended ward Ahuna greetings to the people of Nagaland specially to Sumi brothers and sisters.
In a separate message, he said Ahuna is celebrated in purity of body and mind, and in gratitude for a bountiful harvest. He hoped that the festive spirit of oneness and bonding would restore faith and usher us towards peace and progress.
Stating that this festival should make the younger generation more aware of the Sumi’s ancient rich history, philosophy of life and culture, and to foster friendship and unity among the community, he urged the Sumi community to continue demonstrating their exemplary leadership in guiding the people of Nagaland to overcome the situation we are facing today.
He also appealed to the people to celebrate this beautiful festival observing all Covid-19 protocols.
