Dimapur, September 2: Governor of Nagaland R N Ravi has extended warm Mongmong greetings to Sangtam brothers and sisters and to the people of Nagaland.
This beautiful festival is a celebration for good harvest after all the hardwork in the field. Mongmong is also a time of togetherness, sharing of produce and forgiveness, he said in a message.
“Let us celebrate Mongmong observing Covid-19 protocols. On this auspicious occasion, I wish you all good health, happiness and prosperity,” he stated.
Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton has greeted the Sangtams on the occasion of Mongmong.
Patton said that the festival marks ‘togetherness forever’. The six days celebrations have been carried down for centuries and it is believed that the young men and women will keep this tradition alive, he said in a message issued on Thursday.
