Governor, Dy CM extend Tsungremong greetings

Dimapur, August 1: Governor of Assam and Nagaland, Prof Jagdish Mukhi has extended warm Tsungremong greetings to Ao brothers and sisters and to the people of Nagaland.
Tsungremong is traditionally celebrated to reinforce their bond of brotherhood and unity. It is also a time of thanks giving to the God for a bountiful harvest. This centuries old tradition is a priceless cultural heritage of the Ao people.
The Governor urged upon the community specially the youth to imbibe and propagate the values of brotherhood inherent in this festival. On this auspicious occasion, he wished all good health, happiness and prosperity. (Page News Service)
Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton has greeted the Ao community on the occasion of Tsungremong.
In a message, Patton said that it is not just a festival but a source of building unity. On behalf of the State BJP Legislators, he conveyed heartiest festive greetings and hoped that it is celebrated with joy and happiness.
NSCN (Akato)
The NSCN/GPRN group led by Akato Chophi also extended similar greetings. “May this festival also foster a spirit of unity and peace amongst the Nagas”, it stated.
Also, the Niki Simu-led NSCN/GPRN extended respective festival greetings of Tsungremong and Nyaknyulum to Ao and Chang communities.
“As the two communities celebrate their respective festivals with pomp and gaiety, expressing gratitude and seeking blessings of the almighty for the days ahead, may the grace of almighty God be upon the community members”, it stated.
