Nagaland News

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 4: Governor of Nagaland RN Ravi today urged teachers to re-dedicate themselves with renewed resolve to the service of the nation.

In a message on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the Governor said a teacher’s roles and responsibilities transcend the classroom teaching and their personal and social conducts in day to day life inspire, aspire and shape the overall personality of students and help them become ideal citizens.
On behalf of the people of Nagaland and on his own behalf, the Governor expressed gratitude to all teachers, especially those of the State of Nagaland, who are serving the people, the society and the Nation with their extraordinary services.
“With their dedication they are constantly shaping the young and dynamic minds of our future generations ~ endowing them with intellectual heft and help imbibing needed ethical values”, he said.
The Governor further stated that Teachers’ Day is observed on the day which is the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, who served this great Nation as President, intellectual leader of repute, and most significantly as an outstanding teacher.
He also said Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, a role model of intellectual excellence and utmost humility for all of us, used to say that the destiny of a nation depends upon its teachers.
Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also extended greetings to all teachers and expressed gratitude for the pivotal role played by teachers in the life of every student.
In his message, Rio said that a teacher’s influence is forever imprinted in every student and it manifests itself throughout his life.
He observed that the education sector has been hit hard by COVID-19 pandemic for almost two years and it is still struggling to recover. However, he was happy to see teachers adapting to the new norms of imparting online education so that the academic life of students do not suffer. “It is quite a challenging task and it cannot provide the same environment as physical classes, but I am happy to see that teachers and students alike have resolutely and innovatively embraced it”, he stated.

On this special day, he also congratulated all the recipients of the Teachers’ Awards across the State. He wished all teachers success in their respective endeavours and prayed that the Almighty God bless them with wisdom and the best of health.
