Dimapur, May 7: Nagaland Governor PB Acharya has stressed on the importance of rain water harvesting in the State. Stating that hill stations face water scarcity during the dry season, he said rainwater harvesting was the need of the hour.
Speaking at a review meeting of ambassador’s of Swachh Bharat Mission and brand ambassador of Swachh Bharat Mission today at Raj Bhavan Kohima, the Governor called on the ambassadors to encourage others to take up rain water harvesting in their respective districts.
The Governor also appreciated the State ambassadors and the work they were doing in tune with Swachh Bharat. He encouraged the ambassadors to construct public toilets in all their respective districts and stated that public toilets play a role in community health and individual well-being. He also added that women face a lot of difficulties were public toilets are not available.
The ambassadors highlighted the Governor on the various activities and programmes taken up by them in their respective areas. They also submitted their reports during the meeting.
