Governor asks people to voluntarily donate blood

Dimapur, June 13: Nagaland Governor, PB Acharya has called on the people of the State to thank voluntary blood donors for their life saving gift of blood. He stated that that every year June 14 is observed to raise awareness on the need for regular blood donation to ensure the quality, safety and availability of blood for patients in need.
In a message on World Blood Donor Day (WBDD), Acharya said, “We don’t just need to give blood in the event of tragedies or emergencies. Instead, it should be a normal and routine part of our lives.”
The Governor also called on University youth, NGOs, civil organization, scout and guides, ex servicemen, etc to organize blood donation camps on different occasions. “It is a healthy gesture. We must keep this aptitude up at any cost. Our blood banks are running short of required blood.
