Governor addresses AAVAAHN 2019 at IIT Delhi

Dimapur, March 17: Governor of Nagaland, PBAcharya attended the AAVAAHN- 2019 at IIT Delhi on Sunday.
During the conversation with screen writer, columnist and author Advaita Kala on the theme “A call of changemakers”, the Governor stated that there are 800 universities in the country out of which 5 universities are from Nagaland State. He said that “university education must also include the service of society and nation” and challenged them to come out and do research works for the welfare of the weaker section with emphasis in the tribal area to empower them with education. He stressed the need to empower the unpowered.
He also appealed to the students and professionals to invest their knowledge and work for the interest of the nation instead of going to other countries.
The IIT students and university from the mainland must visit the Northeast states and do a study/ research on natural resources and rich culture and come out with best strategies to strengthen them through education & development. The Governor also said that we must respect all religions, as India is a secular nation.
The Governor was accompanied by Dinesh Kumar, IAS Commissioner & Secretary to the Governor and Kethosituo Sekhose, Deputy Resident Commissioner, Nagaland House, New Delhi. (Page News Service)
