Dimapur, September 4: The Government of India has sanctioned opening of a new Government Medical College by upgrading the District Hospital in Mon district in Nagaland. This was informed by Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr Harsh Vardhan in a letter to Nagaland Minister for Health & Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom on Thursday.
It may be mentioned that Phom had written a letter to the Union Minister regarding opening of a new Medical College by upgrading the Mon District Hospital on July 28 last.
The Union Minister expressed hope that this College would help in meeting the medical needs of residents of the region and ensure a healthy and prosperous India.
He also looked forward for cooperation in early commencement of the medical college.
Meanwhile, Pangnyu thanked the BJP led NDA Government for approving and sanctioning new Medical College by upgrading District Hospital Mon.
