Dimapur, April 17: Consequent upon the unprecedented COVID-19 outbreak, the Ceasefire Agreement signed between the GoI and the NSCN/GPRN (R), which was signed on April 15 at New Delhi and was due to expire on April 27, was extended for a period of 6 months on April 16 last.
“Considering the cordial atmosphere maintained between NSCN (R) and GoI and to honour the Naga People’s yearning for Peaceful Co-Existence, another extension for Ceasefire was signed which is the prerequisite need of the hour at this contemporary stage of the ongoing Naga Political Dialogue,” a statement issued by NSCN (R) stated.
Meanwhile, both parties agreed to adhere to the laid down Ceasefire Ground Rules in all seriousness and fairness.
The document was signed by Dr. Amento Chishi (CFSB Supervisor) and Toshi Longkumer (CFSB Secretary) representing the NSCN (R) while Lt. Gen Shokin Chauhan (Chairman, CFSB) signed for the GoI. (Page News Service)
