GoI genuinely serious to resolve Naga political issue: BJP

Kohima, June 26: The Bharatiya Janata Party Nagaland, held a ‘Virtual Rally’, in commemoration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s completion of one year in office, at its Head Office Kohima on Thursday with National General Secretary and in charge of Northeast and Jammu &Kashmir, Ram Madhav as the keynote speaker.
In his address, Madhav while asserting that the Government of India is genuinely concerned and serious about resolving the Naga political issue claimed that “it is during the BJP government that the Naga peace talk has finally gained momentum”.
A statement issued by BJP Nagaland Media Officer here today said that Madhav wished that “every Nagas lives in dignity as a proud Naga, and that both the Government of India and the underground groups engaged in the peace talk have good wisdom to conclude the issue, so that every Nagas can live free as aspired for”.
On the present COVID-19 pandemic, Madhav acknowledged Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patton, and all legislators in the PDA Government, for “effectively containing the pandemic situation in the State”.
He attributed the service of all the Frontline workers, for rising up to the occasion and rendering selfless services in the battle against COVID-19 pandemic and also asserted that the service and the commitment shown by the Administration, Medical Fraternity, Police, Press & Media and all other Frontline Workers, is the very reason the pandemic situation has been contained effectively.
He further affirmed that timely lockdown imposed by the Prime Minister Modi across the Country, has helped in containing the pandemic situation efficiently.
“Prime Minister Modi cares very deeply for the welfare of every Indian citizens, and shall see to it that no single person is left unattended in time of needs,” he said.
Speaking on the Naga Political issue, Ram Madhav said that the Government of India is genuinely concern and serious about resolving the Naga issue and it is during the BJP government that the peace talk has finally gained momentum.
He wished that every Nagas live in dignity as a proud Naga, and that both the Government of India and the underground groups engaged in the peace talk have good wisdom to conclude the issue, so that every Nagas can live free as aspired for.
He also propagated Prime Minister Modi’s slogan on “Self Reliant India”, where every citizens are encouraged to stand on their own feet, and become job providers with support from the Prime Minister who has wisely come up with innovative schemes to reach out to every citizens, willing to grow their own food, and take up fish cultivation where crores of funds has been sanctioned by the government of India to encourage and promote the same.
Madhav also said that BJP karyakatas across the country has fed 20 crore poor and needy people who needed food and ration support during this pandemic period, and further asserted, “We have shown a different India to the world during this pandemic situation; as a Nation that stand together, uplifting one another and extending all out assistance where it is due; the very reason why Indians have not come out to protest on the streets against the backdrop of economy being shutdown, unlike other countries.
He added that commemoration of Prime Minister Modi’s one year in office is not to celebrate with gaiety, but to go back to every Indian citizens’ with its progress report card, with commitment to do more and even better in the coming years.
Nagaland Minister for Higher & Technical Education and State BJP President Temjen Imna Along highlighted about the activities being carried out by BJP Nagaland.
He said besides the virtual rallies, viewed by thousands of people including BJP Morchas, Mandals and Karyakatas, the Party has distributed more than 30,000 litres of hand sanitizers and 1,30,000 Face Masks throughout the State.
The State President expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and National President J.P Nadda and all Central leaders for their untiring support extended to Nagaland State.
The rally was chaired by BJP state vice president Kavili Achumi while invocation was pronounced by PRO to State President Samuel Sumi and vote of thanks delivered by Minister for PHED Jacob Zhimomi. (Page News Service)
