GHSS Jotsoma celebrates golden jubilee


Dimapur, September 7: Advisor, School Education, KT Sukhalu today said up-gradation of school with lack of infrastructure have created a lot of difficulties.
Speaking at the golden jubilee celebration of Government Higher Secondary School, Jotsoma on Friday at GHSS Jotsoma, Sukhalu hailed Jotsoma community’s involvement in the success of GHSS Jotsoma. The role of community participation will help in addressing the problem of proxy teachers, improving infrastructure and accommodation for teachers, he said.
Sukhalu challenged the teachers to be sincere and dedicated in their work and also offered to give his one month salary to any Government school which will produce student in the top 10.
Director, School Education, Wonthungoe Tsopoe, lauded the school for producing so many luminaries in different fields and also the involvement of churches and pastors in the development of the school. He perceived the school education department as a parent having too many children and not able to properly take care of them, but said that the success of GHSS, Jotsoma is a sea of change and community participation in its success rightly fulfils the UNESCO definition of education ‘living together.’
Principle Secretary, School Education Menokhol John exhorted the school to not only look back with pride but also to look ahead with corrective measures. D. Peseyie, the first headmaster of GHSS, Jotsoma shared about the history of the school and the initial difficulties it went through in establishing the school.
