Dimapur, November 23: The Garos in Nagaland celebrated Wangala, a post harvest festival of the Garo tribe on November 21 last.
The festival was celebrated in different Garo villages and units in and around Nagaland following all the Covid-19 norms and SOPs issued by the state Government. It was celebrated in Dubagaon, Samaguri, Ekaranipathar, Darogapathar, Eralibill, Dimapur town unit and Chumoukedima unit.
A press release issued by President, Nagaland Garo Tribal Council, Karampal G Momin stated that this year’s theme was “Our culture is the soul of our tribe”.
Thanking God for the successful celebration of the festival, Momin expressed gratitude to Governor of Nagaland R N Ravi and Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio for extending festival greetings to the Garos of Nagaland. (Page News Service)
