FSC directs FBOs in state


Dimapur, June 7: Stating that there are number of Food Business Operators (FBOs) in the state running/operating their business without obtaining/renewing FSSAI License and Registration from the Food Safety Authority, the Food Safety Commissioner cum Principal Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, I Himato Zhimomi today directed all the FBOs in the state irrespective of urban or rural based FBOs to obtain/renew their FSSAI License/Registration from their Food Safety Cell, CMO Office of the districts on all Office workings days.
Any person operating Food Business without FSSAI Licence or Registration will be penalized up to Rs.5 lakhs and imprisonment up to 6 months under Section 63 of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
Food Business Operators (FBOs) include based Bakers/Sellers, Catering agents of all Festivals/Occasions, Canteen and Cafeterias of all Government or Private Offices, Colleges, Hospitals Boarding houses / Hostel serving food, Department food article suppliers etc.
