
Dimapur, September 17: The Freshers’ Social 2023 themed “Celebrating youth,” kicked off with enthusiasm at Patkai Christian College on September 16.
Joel Naga, President of the Regional People’s Party (RPP) as special guest reminded the students about the legacy of Patkai community and encouraged freshers to aspire to make a meaningful impact in the state and country.
Joel asserted that as youths of Nagaland, one should strive to bring positive change in the State, adding that ‘your capability is enough to push you through’. It’s one’s legacy that defines a person, he said.
On the day, Vice-Principal Dr R Peseyie welcomed the new students and expressed hope that their stay in campus be a memorable one.
Later Mr. Songaror Horam and Miss Tshoteü Khutso emerged as the winners of Mr and Miss Patkai title respectively. Seisanglen Hengna and Khawungla Shanglai were declared runners-up in the run for the title.
The event concluded with a closing prayer by Megosieto Vüpru, general secretary of EU.
