Free cancer screening held at Holy Redeemer Health Centre

Dimapur, April 23: Free Cancer Screening Camp was held at Holy Redeemer Health Centre, Chümoukedima in collaboration with St. John’s Medical Collage Bangalore.
In a significant stride towards proactive healthcare, the Holy Redeemer Health Centre in Chümoukedima hosted a commendable Free Cancer Screening Medical Camp. Spearheaded by Dr. Antoly Swu, Deputy Chief Medical officer, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Dimapur, as the Special Guest of the day, the camp marked a pivotal moment in the fight against cancer.
Doctors from St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore, Dr. Shashikala the head of the department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics and Dr. Vishakha, the Senior Resident of OBG Oncology department led the screening efforts ably assisted by Rev. Sr. Dr. Rosemary UFC, Dr. Angeline and other hospital staff, their dedication and proficiency ensured thorough examinations for all attendees, emphasizing the crucial role of early detection in battling this disease.
The inaugural function witnessed a gathering of esteemed personalities, underlining the collective commitment to community health.
Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, the Bishop of Kohima, Rev. Fr. John Thekkekkara, Deputy Director of St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore and Razouvotuo Chatsu, President of the Angami Public Organization (APO) graced the occasion with their presence, underscoring the collaborative spirit driving such initiatives.
Earlier in the programme, Rev. Fr. Chacko Karinthayil, the secretary, Health Commission, Diocese of Kohima welcomed the participants of the program, Rev. Sr. Christy Maria, the Administrator of Holy Redeemer Health Centre read a Scripture passage and Rev. Fr. Anthony Dukru, the Principal of St. Joseph Parish, Chümoukedima invoked God’s blessing while Rev. Fr. Sajan Joseph, the Director of Development Association of Nagaland (DAN) said the final prayer.
