Dimapur, February 22: Free breast cancer screening camps for women of Mon District was organised by District administration, Mon from February 3 to 15 under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme.
The screening camps were organised in collaboration with UMANG, a company based in Hyderabad. UMANG is powered by NIRAMAI technology (Non-Invasive Risk Assessment with Machine Intelligence). This method of breast cancer screening can detect tumors 5 times smaller than what clinical exam can detect is non-contact, painless and free of any radiation.
The free breast cancer screening camps were held in Tizit, Aboi, Tobu, Naginimora, Mopong, Longching, Phomching and Chen town. A total of 661 women were screened, out of which 43 cases were detected.
Deputy Commissioner Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS expressed his gratitude to UMANG, District Medical Department, Konyak Nyupuh Shekho Khong (KNSK) and all individuals for extending their services and support leading to a successful completion of the camps.
