Foundation stone for Ranger Office at Tuensang laid


Dimapur, September 23: Minister Forest, Environment and Climate Change, CM Chang unveiled the foundation stone for construction of Ranger Office at Tuensang Town today.
Speaking on the occasion he thanked the DFO Staff for their sincere and dedicated works for the people of Tuensang. He said that Nagaland received 533 crore from JICA (Japan International Co-operation Agency) for the construction of Offices and implementing of schemes in Nagaland. He mentioned that the fund should be utilized efficiently for the welfare of the people, for functioning of office basic infrastructure and urged the DFO staff to work sincerely for the welfare of the people in the District.
MLA Kejong Chang in his short speech urged the Forest Department to plant more trees in the reserved forest which will purify water resources and stop soil erosion. Large scale deforestation should be checked by the department, he stated.
Welcome address was delivered by Y.M Jami IFS Conservator of Forest, Mokokchung and vote of thanks was delivered by L. Tsingthrise Sangtam, FRO Tuensang. The programme was chaired by Dr. C. Zupeni Tsanglai IFS, DFO Tuensang. The Minister was accompanied by Advisor for IPR, SCERT and Village Guards, Toshi Wungtung, MLA Muthingnyuba Sangtam, MLA Kejong Chang, MLA Toyang Chang, DC Tuensang and SP Tuensang.
