Former Naga Women Hoho president passes away

Dimapur, June 29: Former President of Naga Women Hoho Dimapur and a recipient of “Vijay Ratna Award” and “Millennium Achiever Award”, Apila Toshi passed away today in Dimapur. She was 77. She leaves behind 3 sons and 5 daughters, besides 13 grandchildren.
Late Apila Toshi was the mother of Lithrongla G Chishi, (IAS), who retired as Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce in February this year.
Late Apila was a member of the Nagaland State Social Advisory Board (Planning Committee) representing Tuensang and Mon district from 1974 to 1978; served as vice president of Mahila Congress (I) Dimapur-I Assembly Constituency from 1985 to 1990; served as President of Naga Women Hoho Dimapur from 1991 to 1994. She was also a member of Naga Council Dimapur from 1991-1994. She was member in the Board of Directors of Nagaland Apex Weaving Federation and also an Executive Member of NPCC Mahila and Advisor of Dimapur-I A/C.
Her funeral services were held today at Supply Colony Dimapur. (Page News Service)
