For 4th consecutive month, Govt. salaries delayed

KOHIMA, APRIL 12: For the fourth consecutive month, the Nagaland Government has delayed in releasing salary to its employees.
The State Government has not given the reason for delay in releasing the salary for the fourth time. But according to sources the Government was trying to streamline the system and screen out unscrupulous and bogus employees who are a burden to the State’s Exchequer.
The State has highest number of employees in the country with second highest number of 74 Departments ~ apart from unproductive and sick Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
Last month the State Government presented a surplus budget but a whooping amount of deficit remains.
The State Government said austerity measures would be taken to increase revenue collection.
