DIMAPUR, JANUARY 5: The Nagaland Foothill Road Construction Committee (NFHRCC) has appealed to all the 11 tribes’ MLAs to coordinate among themselves and to apprise the Government to execute the Foothills Road work at the earliest. It also acknowledged the efforts of the 11 Ao legislators in apprising the Chief Minister on the Foothills Road issue.
In a meeting held on January 2 last, the NFHRCC resolved to appeal to all the apex tribal hohos to donate Rs 50,000 each to mitigate the project at the earliest, preferably by January last week.
The meeting acknowledged the contractor M/s L Pukhato Shohe & Sons of Doyang Bridge at Governor’s Camp, Liphanyan, for resuming the construction after the COVID-19 lockdown break and appealed to the Firm to expedite its completion at the earliest.
The NFHRCC also directed all heavy trucks/goods carriers plying on the aligned Foothills Road to cautiously use the road to avoid further damage as it will obstruct movement of smaller public vehicle taking the same road. Log truck and stone crusher operators have also been requested to maintain the road for all vehicles in their areas of operations.
