Dimapur, April 10: The Forum for Reconciliation (FNR) has paid tribute to a “lofty Naga”, Rev. L Mankup Konyak, who had passed away on April 7 at Tamlu village in Longleng district.
In a message issued on Saturday, the forum stated that it was in heartfelt solidarity with the family members and the community at the passing of Rev. L. Mankup Konyak into the fullness of his inheritance.
“Rev. Mankup’s life was an epic written by God himself. He spoke often of the Naga family and the years long ago when the Nagas were far different from what is today. His unvarying support of the historical and political rights of the Naga cause, his record as a champion of forgiveness and reconciliation has been an inspiration to the FNR. He supported, encouraged and prayed for FNR and the Naga people,” the message read.
The FNR described Konyak as a liberated, redeemed, and emancipated person. The departed Reverend never gave up on what Nagas could become, and so he echoed with firm belief that we can be a people come of age, it stated. (Page News Service)
