
Dimapur, August 12: A flag rally was organised at Noklak town, in commemoration of the 75th year of India’s Independence (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav), on August 11.
During the occasion, Deputy Commissioner of Noklak, Hiazu Meru briefed the youth on how India got its Independence in 1947 from British rule. The DC advised them to contribute in whatever possible ways they can for the country.
He expressed hope that, along with the rest of the country, Noklak, the newest district of Nagaland, will also march towards the goals of progress and development. Meru expressed gratitude to all the volunteers who had taken part in the programme.
The flag rally started at main town and proceeded to DC’s office complex where a short programme was held.
Meanwhile, plantation drive along the roadsides of Noklak town was also conducted to mark the occasion.
