‘Fit India Freedom Run’ held in State

fit india 2Dimapur, October 1: SP Kohima, Kevithuto Sophie NPS flagged off ‘Fit India Freedom Run’ organized by the Kohima Smart City in collaboration with the Kohima Municipal Council supported by the Bharat Scouts and Guides on October 1. The rally started at 7 am from PHQ junction and culminated at local ground Kohima. 20 cyclists, citizens from all 19 wards and scouts and guides participated in the rally.
Fit India freedom run under the aegis of Fit India Movement organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is a nation-wide campaign which commenced from 15th August 2020 to promote a culture of fitness in the country, which is also coinciding with the closure of commemoration of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2.
173 Bn CRPF: The 173 Bn CRPF Headquarters Airfield Dimapur organized ‘Fit India Run’ today. The event was flagged off by Vishnu Gautam, Commandant-173 Bn CRPF in presence unit officers and prominent local leaders of adjacent villages.
During his brief speech, Vishnu highlighted the importance of ‘Fit India movement’ which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a nationwide movement to encourage people to remain healthy and fit by inculcating physical activities and sports in their daily lives.
The event was marked by distributing ‘Fit India Run’ T-shirts to all the 200 participants.
Local youths from Kirha village, staffs of CIHSR (Referral Hospital), Diphupar Naga Youth Organization (DNYO), Diphupar Naga Student Union (DNSU), police personnel from PS Diphupar and all ranks and files along with family members of CRPF actively participated in the ‘Fit India Run’ event.
