Fisheries Dept conducts skill training

Dimapur, October 20: A one day skill upgradation training on value addition of fish products under Rashtriya Khrishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) was provided to youths of Khedi Baptist Church, Kohima at October 12. The training was conducted by Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Department.
The trainees were taught hands on training on preparation of fish pickle, fish cutlet, fish finger, fish ball and fish soup, emphasizing on hygienic, product packaging and food safety measures. Eight department officials led by District Fishery Officer, Kohima were the resource persons.
In the closing programme, Neitho Kuotsu, Deputy Director, who is the scheme in-charge for RKVY, encouraged the trainees to become self reliant by utilizing the skills and knowledge imparted in the training programme.
A total of 26 trainees attended the day long training programme. (Page News Service)
