Fireman at Peren allegedly assaulted, says WCYO

Dimapur, June 28: The Western Chakhesang Youth Organization (WCYO) has alleged that one Akung Zeliang of Mpai Village, and driver attached to DC Peren, on June 20 assaulted one Fireman from Chakhesang Community, Wechiete Kapfo serving at Nagaland Fire and Emergency Services Peren.
“It is also learned that on numerous occasions, he has threatened to kill all the Chakhesang people living in Peren. Last year, in the month of May 2019, he barged into one of our Chakhesang SDO(C) quarter with the intention to kill him; yet, after the intervention of the DC Peren, our SDO had forgiven him,” the WCYO president Likalo Letro said in a press release.
The WCYO said Akung Zeliang should not take their ur patience as their weakness, because if this precedent continues, it shall jeopardize our strong bond of unity and fraternity.
The WCYO appealed to Zeliang Youth to take proactive action against the erring man, of which, “we have taken serious cognisance of the matter in regard to his violent nature, which is nothing but deliberately committed with the sole intention to create Communal crisis in such a time as this.”
Stating that the behavior of Akung Zeliang is a direct insult and threat to the Chakhesang community as a whole, the Organization said if any any unpleasant situation arises in the future, he shall be held responsible for the mayhem. (Page News Service)
