
Dimapur, April 19: As part of the National Fire Service Week, Fire & Emergency Services, Noklak conducted an awareness programme on April 19 at Noklak.
Deputy Commissioner of Noklak, Hiazu Meru stated that most fire incidents happen due to carelessness and added that it is very important to have an awareness programme on fire safety.
He asked the gathering to learn safety measures so that they can apply them in case of emergency.
The DC mentioned that most of the buildings in Noklak are constructed with timber without any fire safety.
He, therefore, urged that while constructing buildings, safety measures should be given importance to save lives and properties.
He extended appreciation to all the Fire Emergency staff of Noklak for working tirelessly and performing round-the-clock duty.
Officer-in-charge of F&ES Noklak, Thenuosielie Pielie, while explaining the importance of National Fire Service Week, elaborated on classes of fire.
He also explained kitchen fire, electrical fire, liquid petroleum Gas (LPG) fire, smoking & candles/lamp, wildfires, etc.
Hands-on demonstration on LPG cylinder, fire extinguishers handling, and improvised method in rescuing/First Aid was presented by F&ES Noklak personnel. (Page News Service)
