Dimapur, August 25: The NAP (IR) patrol party involved in the August 21 incident at Dimapur has lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at West Police Station Dimapur against Dr Atoka Wotsa for physically assaulting a police personnel on bonafide Government duty and for obstructing law enforcing personnel in the discharge of mandated law and order duties and disturbing public peace and tranquility.
Acting on the FIR, the West PS has registered a case u/s 332/352/504/506/341 IPC for further investigation.
The FIR filed on August 24 alleged that Dr Atoka Wotsa not only used “abusive words” against the IR duty party but also physically charged one of the jawan by “grabbing him by the neck” twice, leading to both falling to the ground. The jawan suffered bruises in the left elbow, on both hands, left knee and his uniform was torn, claimed the FIR.
The FIR requested the West PS to initiate necessary legal actions against Dr Atoka Wotsa, “who physically assaulted a police personnel on bonafide government duty and for obstructing law enforcing personnel in the discharge of mandated law and order duties and disturbing public peace and tranquility.” (Page News Service)
