Final security meeting held at Longleng


Dimapur, February 26: The final security meeting of Longleng district for polling on February 27 to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Election 2018 was held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner on February 25 under the chairmanship of the DC& DEO, Longleng.
DC& DEO, Longleng, John Tsulise Sangtam highlighted of the restrictions and authorization of persons to enter inside polling booth, safe custody of EVM/VVPAT, movement and return plan of polling parties, role of Presiding Officer and Sector Magistrate, use of authorized mobile phone and secrecy of voting. The DC also urged the officials to utilize the service of the DBs who have been deployed to maintain law and order.
General Observer, Dr. Raghav Langer IAS spoke on the Joint Communication System with control room at DC& DEO office, Compulsory contact numbers of Sector Magistrate and Sector Commanders and other team leaders, security arrangement both inside and outside the polling booth, challenge vote, proxy vote, location of election booth and voters facilitation booth, sanitized of polling booth within 100 meters and role of Micro Observers.
Police Observer, Jalindar D. Supekar, IPS, and Superintendent of Police, Longleng briefed on the overall security arrangement in the district. They also urged the Sector Magistrates, other officials engaged in election duty and the security force to work as a team and stay connected for timely intervention to normalize any crisis and situation.
The meeting was attended by the DC & DEO, General Observers, Police Observers, SP, Returning Officer of 49 & 50 A/C, Sector Magistrates and Sector Commanders besides officers from Police and Security Force. (Page News Service)
