Festival of design, technology and art of NE from May 19


GUWAHATI, MAY 17: The Department of Design, IIT Guwahati, is organising the inaugural edition of ISHANYA ’19 – Festival of design, technology and art of North East India – from May 19 to 21.
Stated to be the first-of-its-kind event to be organised in the Northeast, the event marks the hundred years of Visva Bharati Kala Bhavan and Bauhaus, Germany, and 50 years of IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay. This also coincides with the 2 decades of design education and research programmes in the Department of Design.
It is also being celebrated as part of the Institute’s celebration to commemorate the silver jubilee of IIT Guwahati (1994-2019).
“ISHANYA ’19 will mark the significant landmark of different institutes and their exemplary contributions to design, technology and art education in the country. It will be host to multiple design-related activities.
The occasion will witness presentations by leading design visionaries, educators, entrepreneurs, technologists, artists and creative professionals besides exhibitions on design, technology and art; workshops on innovation and creativity for school students and teachers; and felicitation of pioneers in education, industry, practice and service for their contributions to design, technology and art. (Courtesy: AT)
