
Dimapur, April 5: In a tragic turn of events, a man reportedly killed his son following an argument on Monday at Shangnyu village in Mon district.
Sources said that the son had a habit of demanding money from the father, and on Monday too he made similar demand, leading to an argument between the two. The son also had a history of displaying “aggressive behaviour” towards the father, the source said.
Reportedly, the father was locked inside the house even as the argument continued, with the son threatening to use ‘dao’ (machete). In the ensuing quarrel, the father shot the son from inside the house, it was informed.
Superintendent of Police, Mon, Imnalensa confirmed the incident to Nagaland Page, and informed that the father, Naokai Konyak (aged 55) surrendered himself to the police. He added that an altercation took place between the father and the son, Peter Konyak. A case has been registered in connection with the case, he informed.
