Farmers Welfare Day observed


Dimapur, May 6: The Chief Veterinary & AH Office, Kohima District observed Farmers Welfare Day (Kisan Kalyan Diwas) on May 2 along with the rest of the nation.
To commemorate the occasion, free vaccination cum health camps were conducted in different administrative blocks, covering Kohima, Jakhama, Chiephobozou and Tseminyu blocks.
During the camps, a total of 230 dogs, 420 livestock and poultry birds were vaccinated and 325 nos. of animals were given free health care treatments. Besides, mineral mixtures and deworming medicines were also distributed to the farmers free of cost.
Ghathashi: Kisan Kalayan Karyashala (KKK) farmers welfare workshop “Doubling Farmer’s income by 2022” was successfully conducted on April 2 at Ghathashi Block under Zunheboto District.
EAC Ghathashi, Nuhuta encouraged the rural youth to generate agricultural based business as it will help them boost up their livelihood and the state economy as well.
The best farmer award was received by Asapu Swu. He later shared his experience and success story to the fellow participants.
Resource persons were SDAO Pughoboto, Myanthung Patton, AO Pughoboto, Watilo and ATM Ghathashi, Yatetla. Discussion and feedback sessions followed.
