FAC bids farewell to retiring principal


Dimapur, March 5: A farewell program was held at Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung on March 3 for its retiring Principal, T Allong Tzudir who retired on January 31 on reaching the age of superannuation. During the program, speeches were presented by Tiamongla, Vice Principal who described him as a sincere and dedicated man and Dr R. Bendangtemjen, Vice President of the Fazl Ali College Teachers Association who acknowledged his contributions to the Association in various capacities during his days as a teacher in the College.
Other speakers during the program were Tongzuk Sempo, Senior Head Assistant of the College Office, Dulcie, General Secretary of the Fazl Ali College Students Union and P Tiatemsu, on behalf of the Fund Raising Committee of the College appreciating his many initiatives during his tenure as Principal.
T Allong Tzudir entered service in 1985 as a lecturer at Kohima Science College, Jotsoma, then as a lecturer at Fazl Ali College which he left in 2017 on promotion as Principal to Zunheboto Government College.
In 2019, he was transferred to Fazl Ali College as Principal where he served till his retirement on 31st January 2020. In his speech, he quoted the late Padmashree Mayangnokcha who had advised him not to give too much free time to students but to keep them occupied in some activity or the other which was another way of saying that teachers have to work harder to keep students occupied.
He also encouraged teachers to be honest to oneself, to one’s responsibilities and to people around and to fulfil one’s promises. The farewell program was chaired by I Yashikala Jamir of the Department of English.
