
Dimapur, April 16: Exit programme of village adoption committee-cum-DPDB meeting was held on April 15 at DPDB Hall, Kohima. Altogether, six teams of village adoption committees presented a PowerPoint presentation on their activities for the past two years — including 9 Kohima Town Assembly constituency (Lower PWD Colony adoption committee), 14 Southern Angami-I (Kigwema village ), 8 Western Angami (Sechü Zubza), 15 Southern Angami-II (Kidima Village), 10 Northern Angami-I (Chedema model village), and 11th Northern Angami -II (Zhadima village).
ADC Kohima, Bhavani Seo N, declared best teams of VAC with 9 Kohima Town team (Lower PWD Colony) taking first position, and 10th Northern Angami-I and 15 Southern Angami-II as runners-up.
Chairing the monthly DPDB meeting, DC Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie acknowledged the VAC teams for putting themselves in to practice the spirit of convergence in the past two years.
Nagaland State Biodiversity Board Chairman also gave a PowerPoint presentation on their departmental activities and highlighted the status on implementation of Biological Diversity Act 2002.
He said that three main goals of the Act was for conservation of bio-diversity, sustainable use of bio-diversity fair and equitable sharing of the benefit arising from the use of genetic resources
The members also discussed and set up a new VAC for 2021-22 and Aspirational Block Committee Members for 2021-26.
PHED Urban while giving a PowerPoint presentation mentioned that under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), 479 households have been covered, supplying five lakh litres of water per day at Kohima Science College area. Adding that by 2021, water supply would reach Phesama, Chede model village, Jotsoma Village, Chedema village and Kohima village.
The DC also urged the department to complete their planned works in time without any compromises and to ensure safe and clean drinking water to the citizens.
Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Dr. Neikiesalie Kire s encouraged the village adoption committees to continue to render full support and contribute which will be helpful and beneficial for the villagers.
Advisor for Youth Resources and Sports and Chairman of DPDB Zale Neikha felicitated the best performing teams of VAC. (Page News Service)
