Exhibition football match between Assam & Nagaland held


Dimapur, September 27: With an objective to promote better relationship and peaceful co-existence between the neighbouring states of Assam and Nagaland, an exhibition football match was played between Dimapur District Veteran Football Association and Golaghat District Sports Association at DDSC Stadium today.
Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel (IAS) who graced the event as special guest, expressed gratitude to both the teams for coming together with a common cause of fostering healthy relationship as immediate neighbours through Sports, terming it as sports diplomacy.
DC Dimapur also informed of his plan for meeting with the Deputy Commissioner Gologhat, so as to discuss about organizing 2-day sports event between the two districts of Nagaland and Assam for further strengthening the neighbouring relations.
Sushil Kumar wished luck to both the participating teams and advised them for displaying their sporting skills keeping in mind the virtue of sportsmanship.
The players were introduced to the special guest and special invitees including SDO (c) Ralan also the border magistrate, Kigato Chishi, DPRO Dimapur, Lolano Patton, Vice president Gologhat sports Association, District transport Officer Golaghat.
After an exciting 90 match, Dimapur District Veteran Football Association emerged as the winners by scoring 3 goals to 2 against the Golaghat District Sports Association. The exhibition match was organised by the Dimapur District Veteran Football Association.
