Euphonic Patkai PCC wins Battle of the Bands

Euphonic of Patkai Christian College, Chumoukedima today emerged top winners of the ‘Battle of the Bands’ for college and higher secondary students organised by the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland in association with Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA).
Altogether 37 bands from colleges and higher secondary schools across the state participated in the audition rounds, of which 16 were shortlisted for Live Round held today at RCEMPA Jotsoma.
Performing their original ‘With this heart of mine’ in the final round, Euphonic won the first position to receive a cash award of Rs 1 lakh with citation.
Stereo Groove (Clark Theological College, Mokokchung) bagged the second position while The Hope Maverick (Hope Academy, Chumoukedima) won third position. They received cash awards of Rs 75,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively.
Front Fern (Queen Mary HSS, Mokokchung), Wangngai Band (Wangkhao Government College, Mon), The Cassiopeiae (Holy Cross HSS, Dimapur), Call of Sublime (Tetso College, Dimapur) and DPSD (DPS, Dimapur) won the consolation prizes of Rs 10,000 each.
Other bands in the round of 16 were: The Apprentices (Bautung GHSS, Longleng), The Young Prodigies (St John HSS, Tuensang), Silver Bullet (Zisaji Presidency College, Kiphire), Xaverite Band (St. Xavier College, Peren), D’escape (G. Rio School Kohima), Rythmic Band (St. Joseph’s College Jakhama Kohima), The Orphic Band (Baptist College, Kohima), and Rustic Harmony (Baptist HSS, Tseminyu).
Renowned artists Moanungsang, Iuli and Alobo Naga were the judges of the competition.
