Dimapur, October 23: The 11 Adventure camp organized by the Department of Youth Resources & Sports under the National Programme for Youth & Adolescent Development (NPYAD) Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, GoI was flagged off by Advisor, Youth Resources & Sports, Er. Zale Neikha today at John Government Higher Secondary School, Viswema.
On the occasion, Neikha expressed appreciation and gratitude to the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India for granting sufficient funds for the programme. He said that the main objective of the programme was to develop leadership qualities and personal development through active participation in sports & games besides fostering the spirit of adventure.
He also mentioned that organizing such events and participating in such activities would facilitate harmony and tranquility amongst the youth thereby promoting and propagating national integration at large.
He expressed hope that the youth of the state use this event as an opportunity to build new relationship and get to know each other irrespective of which district or area they are from.
He further said that the department would seek assistance from the ministry in order to organize such events in the coming days. He added that such events would usher in cultural exchanges and youth festivals in the state.
Altogether, 88 participants from 10 districts turned up for the 3 day event. The programme highlights included trekking to Dzukou valley, sightseeing in and around Kohima, trip to Dzulekie, rappelling, river crossing, fire making, basic survival techniques etc.
The flag off programme was attended by officials of the department and leaders of various organisations from Viswema village. (Page News Service)
