ENWO, DMST condemns

Dimapur, August 31: The Eastern Nagaland Women’s Organization (ENWO) has strongly condemned the rape of a minor girl by one Nungsang Lemtur alias Nungsangoba (43) of Molungkimong village, and currently residing at Diphupar B, Dimapur.
“Such inhumane act cannot be tolerated in our Naga society and should be condemned by one and all,” it said.
The ENWO urged the authority to book the perpetrator under relevant section of the POCSO Act and take stringent action. It also sought speedy justice to the victim.
DMST: The Dimapur Molungkimong Senso Telongjem (DMST) has also strongly condemned the alleged rape of a girl, who is said to be a minor, by one of its member Nungsangoba Lemtur, a resident of Diphupar ‘B’ village Dimapur.
Stating that the union has utmost intolerance against such heinous crime as rape, it warned against any of its member trying to bail out the accused or influence the course of investigation, so as to ensure fair and quick trial of the case by the investigating agency.
Further, in pursuance of justice for the victim, the union requested the concerned authority to take appropriate action as per the provisions of the law against the accused if proven guilty. (Page News Service)
