Dimapur, September 16: DC Dimapur, Kevekha Kevin Zehol has directed the PWD (National Highways) to ensure free flow of vehicle on two-lane while constructing the other half of the ongoing Purana Bazaar-Chumukedima 4-lane road project. He also directed that necessary precautions be made for safety of citizens.
The DC Dimapur addressing complaints received from different corners about inconveniences caused due to construction of the 4-lane road in a meeting today with DMC Administrator, EE PWD (R&B), Urban Development Officer, Dimapur and SDO, PWD (NH).
In the meeting, SDO (NH) assured that the completed side of the road up to Aoyimti will be open for vehicles by September 21 or 22, which will be a relief for the commuters.
On water logging problems, DMC administrator informed that a task force has been constituted to clear all the drainage under its jurisdiction, which will be done on priority basis after identifying the vulnerable areas.
Construction of drainage at Kyong Colony was also discussed and the same was entrusted to EE (R&B) and Urban Development Officer.
DC also inquired about the work progress of Purana Bazaar Bridge and Nagarjan Bridge. On Purana Bazaar Bridge, Urban Development Officer informed that 75% of the works have been completed while EE (R&B) informed that about 65% of the construction works of Nagarjan Bridge have been completed.
