Dimapur, December 3: Intensifying its ongoing agitation over 45% reservation demand, the Easter Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF)will lock down Government offices, including DC, ADC, SDO, EAC offices in all Eastern Nagaland as 3rd phase of agitation. However, police, medical, fire & emergency services offices and central agencies have been exempted from the purview of the agitation.
On Thursday as part of the 2nd phase indefinite agitation, 6 federating units of ENSF locked down Government offices and restricted movement of Government registered vehicles in their respective headquarters. The agitation passed off peacefully, informed ENSF president Sepili L Sangtam and assistant general secretary Khomo P in a press release.
Meanwhile, ENSF has expressed dismay over the manner the Cabinet sub-committee even after inviting the federation cancelled a meeting at the last minute, which, it said, shows how the Government does not want to address the demands and buy time.
The ENSF also informed that the second round of meeting with Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) as directed by the Chief Minister was held on December 2 but was inconclusive as the NPSC failed to give written justification and clarification to the issues raised by the federation pertaining to NPSC.
The federation added that the proposed democratic indefinite agitation will continue in Eastern Nagaland jurisdiction until the demands are fulfilled. (Page News Service)
