DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 21: The Eastern Nagaland College Students’ Union (ENCSU) has supported the 6-point charter of demand made by the Eastern Nagaland Students’ Federation (ENSF) to the Nagaland Staff Selection Board in implementing job reservation for 6 backward tribes of Nagaland.
Earlier, the ENSF had served a 7-day ultimatum to the Government of Nagaland on November 19 on its charter of demands.
In a press release, ENCSU said it wants equal opportunity and equity for the 6 neglected tribes of the Eastern Districts. It declared to stand along with ENSF saying “to assert one’s right is no crime, but rather a democratic value”.
Stating that every decision made by ENSF is examined critically and the demand is not to be taken lightly, the ENCSU appealed to the Government to take the ultimatum seriously to avoid further conflict and issues.
