Dimapur, March 16: The Eastern Nagaland College Students’ Union (ENCSU) has decried the lack of development in the four district colleges in Eastern Nagaland and demanded immediate action from the State Government.
In a press release issued after completing its 2nd phase of education tour to all colleges in the four districts of Eastern Nagaland from March 4-14 , the ENCSU accused the State Government and the concerned department of neglecting the Eastern Nagaland colleges in terms of all round development activities.
Claiming that the quality developmental works undertaken in other district colleges in Nagaland are ‘incomparable’ to the rest of Eastern Nagaland colleges, ENCSU questioned the Government for not being serious towards Eastern institutions.
ENCSU cited poor road condition at Zisaji Presidency College (ZPC) in Kiphire and Yingli College, Longleng; unsatisfactory construction of Boys Hostel at ZPC under RUSA scheme; in Yingli College both vocational and non-vocational under RUSA scheme are substandard; in Sedem Polytechnic at Tuensang, lack of boundary fencing within the campus; insufficient lectures in all colleges of Eastern Nagaland; and non fulfillment of assurances to provide buses to the four colleges in Eastern Nagaland.
It also urged the State Government and the Department of Higher & Technical Education to inaugurate the Aboi Polytechnic at Mon and to complete the building of Wakching New Model College before this academic session. (Page News Service)
