EMC to provide specialized healthcare facilities


Partners with BLK Super Speciality Hospital Delhi

Dimapur, December 7: Eden Medical Centre, Dimapur has partnered with BLK Super Speciality Hospital Delhi to provide highly specialized healthcare facilities to the people of Dimapur and other adjoining areas. This was revealed to the media fraternity today during an interaction here at the hospital’s conference hall. It was also informed that from December 8 onwards, BLK Hospital would be starting its OPD Services at Eden Hospital as part of the long term plan.
Dr. Lima Imchen, MD, on the occasion said that it has been observed that many patients tend to go out of state for cancer treatments and Nagaland has a long way to go still in terms of manpower when it comes to treating cancer, but with the involvement of BLK Hospital, patients will be able to access many facilities and specialized treatments without going out of the state for everything.
He added that doctors from BLK with different specialties will be present in Eden continuously to see the patients.
Briefing about BLK Hospital, Dr. Dharma Choudhary, Director of BLK Centre for Bone Marrow Transplant, said that BLK treats patients from a very basic state to advanced stages and assured that the incoming doctors would do everything in their capacities to treat the patients here only.
Dr. Manav Wadhwan, Director of BLK Institute for Digestive and Liver Diseases said that the hospital is trying to develop a relationship with the people of Nagaland and bring faith in the system as well as equip the state so that diseases can be identified and treated here in the initial stages, or in case of liver diseases, remove the need of transplant by treating the problems in their early phases.
During the interaction, Dr. Moatoshi Aier, pathology chief asked the incoming doctors if the hospital can take care of the patients’ needs other than the treatment if they are referred to BLK Super Specialty Hospital Delhi as people here find it difficult to adjust when they get out of their comfort zones, to which Dr. Choudhary assured that the hospital has a holistic approach towards the patients and understands the different needs of the patients.
Dr. Bikash Gurung from BLK was another doctor who addressed the press.
Though BLK Super Speciality Hospital is starting with OPD Services for now, in the days to come the space would be widened in accordance to the need of the hospital and more specialized services will be introduced. The doctors from Delhi will remain present in Eden Hospital round the month taking rotations and public will be informed about the schedules of the incoming specialized doctors so that they can plan and take appointments.
