Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat team meets Governor


Dimapur, March 20: Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya today invited teachers and students from Madhya Pradesh, who are on the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ tour to Nagaland and Manipur for breakfast at Raj Bhavan Kohima.
Welcoming the teachers and students, the Governor encouraged them to learn as much as they could about the people and places they visit and to strengthen national integration. Stating that India was a democratic country and unity in diversity was the peculiarity of India, the Governor called on the visitors to be the bridge in linking the people of the country.
The Governor handed copies of local dialects and their meanings translated into English to the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ team. The visitors were accompanied by Director Higher Education, Kuholi Chishi and other officers from the Department.
The ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ was launched by Prime Minister Modi with an objective to build bonds between the people of various States of the Country. Every State and UT in the country would be paired with another State/UT for a year, during which they would carry out a structured engagement with one another in the spheres of language, literature, cuisine, festivals, cultural events, tourism etc. The paired States/UTs would sign MoUs with each other, delineating a set of activities that they would carry out through the year. Nagaland is paired with Madhya Pradesh and Manipur.
