ECI recognizes NDPP as State party

Dimapur, April 19: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has granted recognition to Nationalist Democratic Progress Party (NDPP) as a State party in the State of Nagaland under the provisions of the Elections Symbols (Reservation & Allotment) Order, 1968 on the basis of review of poll performance at the general elections to the Legislative Assembly of Nagaland, 2018.
The ECI stated that the NDPP has fulfilled the conditions laid down in Para 6A (i), (iii) and (v) of the Election Symbols (Reservation & Allotment) Order, 1968, for recognition of the NDPP as a State party.
The ECI further notified that the request of the NDPP for allotment of “Globe” as the reserved symbol has been accepted and the notification stated that the party being a State recognized party in the State of Nagaland has been allotted “Globe” as the reserved symbol in the State of Nagaland.
The NDPP was formed on May 17, 2017 and was notified by the ECI as a registered political party on October 13, 2017. Within a few weeks after registration, the NDPP participated in the general elections to the Legislative Assembly of Nagaland, which was held on February 27.
The NDPP is now a registered and recognized political party in Nagaland with effect from April 17, 2018 as per the communiqué of the ECI.
Meanwhile, the NDPP has extended sincere appreciation to the Election Commission of India (ECI) for passing all necessary orders in a prompt manner as laid down in the rules.
In a press release issued,the NDPP said despite being a new party, which was formed just some months back, it has crossed major milestones and reached significant landmarks due to the committed and loyal efforts of the functionaries of the party and the popular support of the masses.
It extended deepest appreciation to the citizens of the State and the electorate for reposing faith and confidence upon the leadership of the party and for supporting the ideologies and principles of NDPP.
The NDPP expressed confidence that the people of the State will not be influenced by false propaganda and spread of lies by others as the party has utmost respect for the wisdom of the Naga people. It assured to continue to tirelessly pursue the overall upliftment of all sections of the people, based on truth and facts, and will rely on the foundation of the party’s motto of “Deeds not Words.” (Page News Service)
