Dimapur, May 17: The NPF has termed the curtailment of campaigning in Bengal by the Election Commission of India as “over reaction” and unfair, unethical and politically biased.
In a statement, Dr. S R Naresh Ram, PRO to secretary general, NPF said while other places also witnessed poll violence during the entire election campaign no action was taken by ECI except in Bengal, which is the first of its kind in the history of Indian election.
“In this hour of uncertainty it has casted a shadow of doubt over the ECI for its unprecedented and drastic action taken,” it said.
The statement said the NPF stands firmly with TMC party in upholding the values of democracy in the greater interest of the nation.
