Dimapur, November 10: In accordance to MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC) mandate, the Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) of ICFAI University Nagaland (IUN) in collaboration with Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) under Ministry of HRD Initiatives, Govt. of India conducted one day workshop on “Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship” on November 8 at the IUN Campus.
The objective of the workshop was to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and to transform them into prototypes.
Dr. Imtinungsang Jamir, Coordinator of E-Cell welcomed the participants by highlighting the success journey of E-Cell and how promisingly the IUN students has excelled through every opportunity into becoming an industrially ready graduate.
Prof. C P Alexander, Vice Chancellor of IUN delivered the special address and encouraged the participants to play a crucial role to create a sustainable innovation ecosystem to help India emerge as a global innovation hub.
Rupanka Bhuyan, President of IUN’s IIC in his keynote address further stated that India has already been improving on global stage in terms of innovation ranking from 86th in 2014 to 52nd place in 2019.
The technical sessions were conducted by Dr. V T Vasagan and Wapangsenla Imchen, both of the Department of Management Studies, IUN and Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) trained professionals. During the workshop, 18 business plans were prepared and presented by the participants which results as an innovative activities in their informative years with a potential to convert their ideas into marketable products in the future.
