Dy CM, others condemn killing of 3 persons in Peren

Dimapur, March 23: Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton has expressed shock and condemned the recent incident that took place at Lamhainamdi village, under Peren District on Monday.

Patton stated that the “inhuman killing of three persons was “outrageous and numbing” and such killings goes against the very tenet of life.
He also appealed for calmness and to maintain peace and tranquility in the area to all concerns. Meanwhile, Dy. CM asserted that the Government had taken cognizance of this serious issue and assured that the law will take its own course and befitting punishment will be awarded in accordance with the law of the land.
Patton also stated that the Police department has setup Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the incident, headed by a senior police officer.
NMA: The Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) has condemned the brutal killing of three persons and destruction of properties at Lamhainamdi village under Peren district.
The NMA appealed to all citizens to shun violence and killing and also appealed to all national workers not to indulge in any land disputes.
“Let there be recognition of rights and peace through peaceful dialogue and not through the barrel of guns,” the NMA said and appealed that initiatives for peace be upheld for the sake of the people, the unarmed population whose lives and property are endangered through such violent incidents.
It also appealed to the state Government to ensure that safety, security and respect for precious human lives is upheld and take strong preventive measures to prevent recurrence of violence and killings in the state.
The NMA demanded the law enforcing agencies to punish the perpetrators according to law and ensure that rule of law prevails. It also urged the citizens to maintain peace and exercise utmost restraint and avoid spreading of rumours, provocative comments to avoid further escalation of tension.
The NMA further conveyed condolences to the victims and their families.
TSUD: The Tenyimi Students’ Union Dimapur has condemned the brutal murder of three innocent villagers of Lamhainamdi villlage in broad daylight by anti-social elements.
In a press release, TSUD president, Rukewezo Wetsah and finance secretary, Asin Rengma expressed shock that the limbs of the victims were cut off and their bodies burnt after they were killed.
It further said the use of automatic arms clearly shows that it is the handiwork of some anti social elements hell-bent on creating tension and disturbing peaceful coexistence amongst the Naga family.
TSUD appealed to the law enforcing agencies and the government to leave no stone unturned in arresting the perpetrators and award befitting punishment.
It also appealed to the leaders of Naga communities to solve any issue with wisdom amicably and not to encourage any sort of violence.
The Union further extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and expressed solidarity to Zeliang brothers.
NIPF: The Nagaland Indigenous People’s Forum (NIPF) has expressed shock at the killing and burning down of properties at Lamhainamdi village under Peren district.
The forum said it does not subscribe to the idea of violence of any form to solve any dispute and appealed to the people to show utmost restraint and solve any dispute through cordial discussions and denounce violence.
The NIPF extended deepest condolences to the bereaved families and prayed to God to comfort the families at this hour of sorrow and pain.
TUD: The Tangkhul Union Dimapur has expressed concerned over reports of the killing of three persons and the burning down of vehicles and other property in Lamhainamdi village, Peren district on Monday.
Stating that violence in any form in this day and age is unacceptable, the Tangkhul Union Dimapur has condemned the killings unequivocally.
The TUD also called upon the law enforcing agencies to ensure that the culprits are booked at the earliest and that speedy justice is delivered.
The Union further shared the grief of the families of the victims and extends heartfelt condolences

DNSU: The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union has condemned the killing of three innocent villagers of Lamhainamdi Village and said there is no room for such a heartless criminals in this modern society.
While extending it’s deepest condolences to the bereaved families, the Union urged the law enforcing agency to take up the issue with highest importance and act swiftly to book the culprits without delay.
The Union further appeal the public to abstain from instigating communal hatred and let the law take its own course of action.
